CHASING DREAMS: MY JOURNEY TO IPG

Of course, everyone has their own dream and really wants to make it happen one day. Becoming a teacher has been my dream since I was a kid because I would like to teach others and become someone that can give benefits to others. So, this is my journey to becoming an IPG student. I have been through a lot of challenges before I came to IPG 

The story begins with the day I got my SPM results. I looked at my result, wondering where I should continue my study with this kind of result. My SPM result is just an average result because I just got 5A’s and am thinking whether I should continue my study or not. My feeling to continue my study is slowly fading away in my heart because I don’t really want to study anymore, and I just want to earn money to help my family. However, with my SPM results, I applied to several public universities, including IPG, to continue my studies after receiving encouragement from my parents and teachers.

After almost a month, the IPG interview results have finally been announced. But sadly, I’m not eligible to be called for the interview. My feeling is very sad because IPG was my first choice to continue my studies. However, a few days later, the UPU results also came out. But again, I was not offered any universities that I applied to continue my studies. I am encouraged to apply for an appeal to be accepted to study at the next level and finally succeed in being offered to continue my studies at UiTM in the field of Office Management. Although it wasn’t my first choice, I continued my studies because most of my friends were continuing their studies, and I want to make my parents proud of me one day.

     I was not offered to both IPG and public universities.  

Finally, the day has come, I registered at the UiTM Alor Gajah as a new student. I feel very excited, and my spirit is burning to continue my studies to the next level in a new environment even though it’s not in the field that is not really my first choice. After a few months living my life as a UiTM student, suddenly a feeling arose that made me want to apply to IPG for the second time because becoming a teacher has been my dream since childhood.

After one semester passed in UiTM, the IPG application for SPM 2023 graduates finally opened. I took the opportunity to apply to the IPG for the second time because I believe that those whoever tries will surely succeed. Without any hesitation, I continued to apply to IPG with the hope that I would be accepted this time.

After a few months since I applied to IPG, the results finally came out. I was so surprised when I saw that I was successfully called for the interview. I can’t describe how happy I was when I saw the results, and it felt almost unbelievable that I had been called for an interview, and my step towards continuing my studies at IPG is getting closer. Without thinking twice, I immediately accepted the offer and strived to do my best in the interview so that I would be selected to continue my studies at IPG.  At the same time, I do not forget that I am still a student of UiTM, and I am also busy completing several of my assignments at that time. My mind has been thinking about IPG even though I am still a student at UiTM.

A few days before the interview, I was very busy with the various tests and quizzes at UiTM, and I thought that I would not be able to prepare myself in the best condition for the interview. My mind is in a jumble because I have to think about the upcoming UiTM tests and the approaching IPG interview. During the weekend, I took the opportunity to return to my home in Muar to prepare some necessities for the IPG interview, such as printing forms and creating teaching aids to be used during the interview. I just have two days to complete all of that because on Monday I need to go back to UiTM to sit my test. But finally, I completed all of that and went back to UiTM by motorcycle on Monday morning to answer the test that was held in the afternoon.

After I finished answering the test, I immediately rushed back to Muar again because the next day was the day of the interview. That was the most exhausting day for me because I had to commute back and forth from Melaka to Muar by riding my own motorcycle to attend the IPG interview that would take place the next day.

After a long wait, finally the interview has finally arrived. I am very grateful because my interview went well that day. As soon as the interview ended in the evening, I went straight back to UiTM to continue my classes as usual the next day. My body feels very tired, but I must strengthen myself to attend class the next day because it’s my responsibility as a student.

After a few months, the IPG result finally came out. Once again, I can’t believe that I have been offered to continue my studies at IPG! I feel very grateful and happy because my dream of studying at IPG has finally come true. All my hard work has finally paid off after I was successfully offered a place at IPG. This story has taught me that we should not easily give up and anyone who always tries will surely succeed because effort will not betray the result.  That’s all my story of my life journey before I became an IPG student.
